Regulating AI: A Tale of Two Cities

Following the AI Action Summit in Paris, and AI Fringe in London, AI policymaking has shifted from a focus on safety to competition. This shift has materialised amidst a new administration in the US and the success of the low-budget Chinese AI model, DeepSeek. We discuss the direction of regulation and analyse some of the AI investment commitments of governments.
