BEREC consults on the data economy, contract simplifications, and access to infrastructure

The Body of European Regulators (BEREC) has launched consultations on four different topics. One consultation relates to BEREC’s draft work programme for 2019. The draft aims to be finalised by December 2018, and covers five pillars (connectivity challenges; potential bottlenecks in the distribution of digital services; enabling 5G and promoting innovation in network technologies; fostering a consistent approach to net neutrality; and exploring new ways to boost consumer empowerment). Other consultations relate to the data economy and its potential bottlenecks; simplification for consumers’ contracts; and pricing for access to infrastructure and civil works according to the Broadband Cost Reduction Directive (BCRD). Stakeholders can submit their responses until 7 November 2018; the consultation on the data economy will remain open until 21 November 2018.
